Train Trip Part V - Halifax

We boarded another overnight train - from Montreal to Halifax. My favourite scenery was in New Brunswick.

This train wasn't as nice as the first one. The beds were not great, the food wasn't as good, it was simply re-heated, no chefs. The people on the train were mostly commuting too so it didn't have that same feeling. But it was totally worth it.

We only had one full day in Halifax so we crammed everything into that day.

We saw the Maritime Museum which has Titanic and Halifax explosion exhibits, The Citadel and walked around town. We also found a really cool old graveyard right downtown.

Halifax is a pretty city, lots to explore. We want to go back and do the entire east coast one day.

The highlight of the trip to Halifax for me though - hooking up with an old friend who I had lost touch with. We met up for dinner and caught up, it's been years! Now we have reconnected and won't lose touch again. Yay!!

The flight home was good - strange flying over all that land that it had taken us days to cross earlier!

I went to that old cemetery when I visited Halifax a few years ago. I love old cemeteries! It's too bad you didn't have a bit more time on the east coast. Peggy's Cove and Lunenburg are a couple of my fave places, and just a couple hours outside of Halifax.

I totally want to explore the whole east coast one day, too. I haven't been farther east than Montreal (in Canada, at least). It looks gorgeous!
