Woah, it's been a while. I've been meaning to post but things are kinda boring lately.
I've worked every day for over two weeks. Took on two new clients! I'm back down to one client for now but things are super busy.
I totally get it now when people say you tend to put in more hours when you're working from home. It's so easy to just slip in there and do something "quick".
Totally random, I know. But seriously, next time you have left over pizza - heat it up in a frying pan with a bit of olive oil.
We're busy planning a trip to San Francisco in the next two weeks. I'm stoked to see a Giants game. Remember when we went to Seattle?
Brad went out of town this weekend. I always manage to do the same things when he isn't around. Like right now I'm watching The Changeling and getting some serious heebies. This is probably a bad idea.*
I was planning on filling part of the weekend working. Gotta love these flex hours. I worked until 1am last night, then on and off today. I actually got a lot done!
The coolest thing - I can watch movies while I work. That is something I have never done.
I watched a few episodes of Star Trek and Columbo while I was working this morning. I found that Columbo was especially conducive to creating a glazing schedule.
I'm watching The Changeling right now - one of my favourite movies. It's so creepy,**
probably not a good idea to watch this one while I try to get work done.
I should draw a haunted house in Revit. Maybe I should model the house in The Changeling!
Nah, I'd get too scared.
*The scene with the camera going through the house and up the stairs just happened. That's it. My night is over.
** The scariest scene in the movie just happened. Why do I watch this at night, when Brad isn't here?!
One good thing that came out of my experience using Vectorworks - it left me with PTSD so AutoCAD is no longer unbearable.
At the height of my frustrations with Vectorworks, I wondered what their headquarters looked like. So I googled it.
One of the first images for Autodesk headquarters that came back was this:
Holy crap! What an inspiring space. Clean lines and colours, amazing wood features that look like something an insane Revit power user would come up with...that yellow glass? I'd love to work there.

I'm digging the No-Name Brand furniture and cheap carpet tile. At least she has a window....overlooking a parking lot. Well, at least they let her take her shoes off for this photo.
To give Vectorworks the benefit of the doubt there was another photo on this webpage:
Underneath this photo it says "Our renovated headquarters showcases projects designed by Vectorworks users throughout the building".
When you click on the photo it takes you to a blank page that says 'hallway'.
