Train Trip Part III - Ottawa

Ottawa is a really nice town.

It reminded me a little bit of downtown Regina, but larger. Lots of "safe" architecture - I don't think they want to ruffle any feathers.

The weather was really nice, just starting to get hot. Unfortunately we didn't have a lot of time here - basically one full day. We walked along the river where there is a nice path.

We went to the Museum of Civilization - which was amazing.

The best part was Canada Hall which was an actual town they created from the late 1800's to early 1900's. You could walk around the storefronts and even go inside stores that were fully stocked - so impressible.

We also toured the Parliament Building which included seeing the library, sitting in on a parliamentary and senate session.

The best part was dinner with an old friend of Brad's - Roari. We met him and four of his friends for dinner at a fantastic restaurant - good food, good friends - you can't beat that.

Have you seen the same sort of old storefront idea at the Royal BC Museum? That's the best part of our museum here as well. Full of curiosities!

Too bad you didn't get a longer time in Ottawa. I've never been, but I hear there's lots of great places to see there.

Based on your pictures: Totally downtown Regina. Nailed it.
