We missed the solar eclipse a few weeks ago because of cloudy weather. Typical. I was choked then.
The thing is - you miss some astronomical stuff because you are on the wrong side of the planet or live in a big bright city that's hard to get out of. But events like the Venus Transit should be easy to see. I'm missing them because we can't see the sun. THE SUN.
Imagine how I felt yesterday and this morning waking up to rain and brutal clouds, with no hope of seeing the Venus Transit. I. Was. Pissed. Off. Spent my morning ranting things like 'That's it! Let's move to Ontario where it's WARM! Where we can see the sun and feel warm and I don't have to wear a sweater on my balcony in June."
About an hour before the transit was due to start the clouds parted. I stand corrected!! I had my special glasses at work and was able to see it from the beginning. It's still going on and so cool that I can step on to the balcony and look at it.
I guess maybe we are in the right place and won't be moving to Ontario after all.

If you get to experience an Ontario heat wave (not sure what it'll be like when you're here yet), you'll like the idea of a sweater on a balcony in June.
Glad you got to see the Venus transit. I missed it 'cuz I was out drinking with teachers. Oh well, maybe in my next life I'll see it!

Lastly, I've checked out the song Soaked by Plastic Operator and I love it! Then I tweeted it and then, they (the band) retweeted my tweet! They have less followers than me so I guess it's not THAT exciting.

I totally forgot about it. I meant to remember and then got busy and was off the internet for a few days and totally spaced... I'll catch the next phenomenon. :-)
I missed the transit and I don't even know why. I have to echo the sentiment about that being such a cute photo of you, though. You look so enraptured!
