I don't want the train trip to end!
There has been careening (140 km/hr!), not too much clanking, lots of visiting and eating and most of all a lot of looking out the window. I haven't read nearly as much as I thought I would - there is too much to see!
The prairies and all through Manitoba blew my mind - such gorgeous scenery. I could hear my dad the whole time - "they should have built the railroad through that part of Saskathewan first!" as he shakes his fist in the air.
Our train almost always has to get out of the way so the freight trains can pass through - and there are tons of them! This means lots of stopping on a parallel track and waiting. It pushed us three hours late once we got to Edmonton!
We don't care. As long as we are in Toronto in time to see Christielli it's fine - just more time to enjoy the amazing scenery of Canada! What a trip so far.

Glad you enjoyed the train ride so much! And I love your pictures! That cake looks amazing.
AND I HAD SO MUCH FUN MEETING YOU GUYS! It was awesome showing you around the city, especially how you were so amazed by how you have to walk into traffic to board a streetcar! It was great! I can't wait to see you again in Victoria.
And, I'm looking forward to posts about what you guys got up to in Toronto!
Ooh, I also saw that the Jays won! I'm glad you got a win! 3-0 sounds like a good game. :)
Yay! Love your photos! is that a field of daisies??
Christielli - yes, it was awesome hanging out with you too! The streetcars are seriously weird. But very cool at the same time.
Cathyj - no daisies. I bet you it's barley or something. I love the broken fence....
Wonderful view! And it sounds like your dad and mine were cut from the same fist-shaking cloth... I think the word curmudgeon comes from the muttering sound they make as they wander down the hall post-grumble. :-)
It also sounds like the trip is a shopping success. Please tell me you listened to TH's "Wheat Kings" as you passed through SK...
