Cowl
My mom is so cute. Months ago she sent me a letter and included a pattern for a knitted cowl. She didn't say anything, but when I questioned her about it later she said she liked it in black.
It's a super easy pattern, what a great idea for a gift. I found the yarn and knit one up for her. In my usual way. "Gauge. Pshaw, gauge....who cares."
Well, this is what I ended up with after my first attempt.
A cowl for Ziggy. The thing wouldn't fit over my head - no way in hell.
I'm not sure when I'll learn my lesson about making a gauge swatch when I knit stuff. I should put this picture of The Bad Room Mate next to my knitting basket.
Anyway, after I adjusted the pattern I knit it again and it turned out amazing. The black yarn doesn't photograph well, but it has a cable which makes it that much more special. I'll probably make one for myself once I'm done the Kurt Cobain Sweater.

I think Ziggy looks fabulous!
I'm bad for checking gauge on anything I'd class as an accessory... We all do it. The "actual" sized one turned out great, though. :-)
I LOVE Ziggy's Cowl. Makes me want to knit one for Miss Rilo. Glad the post gauge turned out well!
I need to do more knitting. I would like to learn how to do cables.
Hahaha-- I'm sure Ziggy loved modeling the cowl for your photo shoot. What a perfect (and practical!) cat accessory. :)
The real-sized one turned out beautifully, though. Cowls are so much more awesome than scarves.
I'd like one of these too!
Cat cowl!!! Love it haha. Even though it's not what you intended at first. I love knitted cowls.
