Zippers

Ohmigod.

I had a request in my Etsy shop to make a Buttercup Bag with a zipper closure, rather than a magnetic snap. So I went online and found out that there are lots of people out there who say 'zippers are easy'!! Including a super handy tutorial on YouTube that I followed, but it was meant for clothing.

There was also another tutorial for installing a zipper on this particular bag, but it wasn't exactly the most clearly written tutorial,
so I ended up making it up as I went along.

Installing a zipper in a hand bag is freaking HARD.
Maybe I'm too much of a perfectionist, especially when it's something I'm actually going to sell to someone - but I wanted it to be perfect! This is what I ended up with....what do you think?? Honestly.

Overall, I'm really happy I got to do this. The best thing about this entire process is that I've learned something new and now I have a pattern for installing zippers so the next time someone asks, it will be that much easier.

You did an awesome job! You put a lot of care into that bag and it shows. Way to go! Now you can offer this option too which is rad!

seriously. I don't even deserve to share the internet with your craftiness. I get excited about my button sewing ability.

Rawbean - I know...I even made a pattern now - you would totally be calling me hard core if you saw it.

Claire - Thanks Lady! If you knew the amount of swearing that went into it though....

IG - Oooh! Do you mean the Green Tea bag? It sold last week!
