Since about one week after surgery I noticed something on the right side of my jaw, near my chin. I thought it was a metal L-angle or something, like a bracket. Nope. Now I can see it's just where he CUT MY CHIN OFF?!
I have put a paper bag over my face so I can breathe. No worries.
I saw Dr. D (my surgeon) yesterday. After these x-rays and more poking around in my mouth he declared himself super happy with the results and released me back to my orthodontist!
I drove over to my orthodontist and he was really pleased with my results too. He'll manage everything from now until I get the braces off. This is where it gets crazy and I'm still in shock...
I only have to band myself shut at night.
People, seriously. Please understand.
I was ready, willing and gearing up to be banded shut for 3-4 months. I could have dealt. I will do anything these guys tell me. I would have even listened to country music if they said it would help. See? Anything.
Next step: soft chew diet.
