The Book Sale

We went again.

In the weeks leading up to The Book Sale, I wasn't exactly in the market because I was (am) strongly into reading ebooks. Then my Kobo was beat up by Dean Koontz - one night before the book sale. I wonder if the universe is trying to tell me something.*

Brad had a list and I do love looking through books so I was excited to check it out this year. We didn't panic to get there early - once the drilling started** we quickly headed out.

Here is my stack, one of them (Blindness, thanks Citric!) is shared with Brad's pile. I've read The Thirteenth Tale (LOVED it) and the rest are new to me. I think I did well this year. The ereader really helps hold me back.

I bonded with a woman who also likes Anne-Marie McDonald so the trip was worth it just for that.

*It doesn't help that the day after The Book Sale Kobo announced that you can now buy ebooks on the iPad, something I've been waiting for.
**More on this soon.

Because Anne-Marie McDonald is awesome. Love her.

Blindness gets a little bleak in parts but if you stick with it, it's worth it. Really curious to know what you think of it...

Very curious about the drilling!

I also loved The Thirteenth Tale. Very worthwhile to own!

Of your pile, I've also read "The Almost Moon" and "Eat, Pray, Love". I read EPL waaaaay before everyone else did, so I read it without all the hype around it. I enjoyed it. As for The Almost Moon, I don't remember much of it, other than I didn't like it as much as "The Lovely Bones" but still enjoyed it, I think.

Happy Reading!

Can you believe I've actually read two of the books in your pile? I know! I'm as shocked as you are! :)

If you read "Eat, Pray, Love" and forget about Julia Roberts and all the crap that surrounded this book in the aftermath, it's really quite enjoyable. I connected with it on a lot of levels I wasn't expecting.

I've also read "The Almost Moon". I can't remember much of it except the first few chapters which made me nauseous. I'm such a lightweight, I swear. I'm sure nausea isn't a common reaction to the book. ;)
