This time we decided to try Korean BBQ. We ordered the BBQ Combo for 4. The idea is that they BBQ everything right at your table. The waitress came over with the giant plate of raw meat, put it down on the opposite end of the table from the BBQ and started loading the raw meat onto the grille. The problem was she was dripping raw-meat-juices all over everything on the table including bowls of sauces and other garnishes.
Ummmm...really?

After that, it was alarming because every time she came back to the table to look after the BBQ, she would use the tongs she kept leaving submerged in the raw-meat-juices.
She also used scissors in the same way - left in the raw-meat-juices - to cut the food on the grille. Over and above how strange it was to see someone cut steak with scissors, they had a curiously juvenile pattern on the plastic handles. This added to my anxiety.
Also there were ZERO vegetables other than the super small portion of potatoes you can see in my photo.
The food was good, but we were all glad to wake up this morning feeling like we had narrowly escaped some kind of crazy food poisoning nightmare.
Oh and there were raw carrots on top of the plate of raw meat, she left them there until the very end when she threw them on the grille. There was no way I was eating one of those Death Carrots.

Hahaha, death carrots.
I've heard of many the person getting ill after Korean BBQ. I guess this is why. I've actually never had it before.
Happy New Year.
Glad to hear you avoided the perils of food poisoning and death carrots. That sounds super sketchy to me, but it must be somewhat OK if there are hundreds of Korean BBQ places around? (Shouldn't they all have to meet some basic Food Safe requirements?)
imagine what it must be like in Korea!
LOL I love your reaction to this restaurant experience. I would've been equally horrified. I'm glad you survived!
