80's Helmut Hair

I was getting my hair cut by this great stylist and I was super happy with what he did for me. But he's not a talker and since I am always in the chair for an hour it made me uncomfortable. So last week I decided to try out another stylist...

You know when you get your hair cut and they style it for you after? You always walk out feeling amazing. They always use a straight iron on my hair - every time. So as usual I walked out feeling pretty good. And the thing is - I didn't think I had anything too crazy done.*

Then I washed my hair.

Seriously - when I saw my hair the first thing I thought of was this girl from an old Law and Order episode. This is almost what my hair looks like now, just a little longer.

This morning I realized with horror that it's naturally 'feathering' in the front - 80's style. When I got to work my workmate said "Your hair! It's....retro!" Then I saw him later and he called me Farrah.

Damn that straight iron! I'm never letting a stylist use one on me again. Now should I go crawling back to the other guy??

*She drastically thinned my hair out all over. She even cut me a new cow lick.

yikes!! That's what my hair looks like if I let it dry naturally but way more frizzy! I feel your pain!

even pretty girls need to read said...

Oh NO. I hate it when that happens. Especially if your stylist cuts it to be flat ironed and you want to be able to go natural on occasion. I make a point of telling my stylist that I like to be able to wash and wear AND have the option to do it up fancy.

On the other hand, I also believe it takes at LEAST three self stylings to get the feel of a new hair cut, so yes you have to walk around thinking you look awful for a few days : (

Oh no! My hair naturally waves and frizzes when left to its own devices, so I would HATE to have it cut to do that even more. And who cuts a cow lick??

On the plus side, Farrah's hair is kind of in again, is it not? (Hopefully?) Maybe you can be tres stylish (or fake that you are).

Oh boo!! I hate hair mishaps like that! I once had a haircut that i hated because it made me feel like a soccer mom. Anyway, there's a picture of me with it in a bulletin board by office at work so I get to be reminded of it every day.

I think it's kind of funny that you remember Law and Order so vividly that it reminded of you of an episode so soon!
