2014 Finally

Happy New Year!

In other words - good bye 2013. You sucked.

It's weird, a lot of people I know are saying it was a tough year for them too.

I'm not usually one for making new years resolutions but I am making a few this year.

1. Less TV
I really don't watch much tv to begin with. But it really bugs me when I find myself just watching whatever is on because 95% of the time it sucks. I don't even both with anything prime time anymore.

2. More Jazz
Lately I've been thinking about how much I like jazz and how little I actually listen to it. Right now, I have it on and it's lovely.

3. More Reading/Sewing/Knitting
This goes hand in hand with my first resolution. I have eleventy-billion* projects I want to make and a sewing room and tons of fabric and yarn here just waiting for me.

4. Better Cooking
My parents gave me my much coveted Jamie Oliver's 15 Minute Meals cookbook for Christmas. I can't wait to get into it. I might even go out and buy some pretty platters to serve it all up on like he suggests! He's so inspiring.

5. Do a better job staying in touch with friends
Lately I've been feeling this too. I never manage to get Christmas cards out and I feel crappy about it every year. I usually miss birthdays when I don't mean to, all around it makes me sad. I'm making more of an effort this year because my buddies are SUPER important to me.

Today we're hanging out at home - reading, eating, drinking and sleeping. It's well deserved since I didn't take any time off for the holidays this year other than Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Here's to a fantastic 2014 filled with adventures....

*Yes I'm stealing this Citric!

Happy 2014! I agree, good riddance to 2013.

I think this is a great list of goals for the new year. Hope you reach them all and find new stuff to get excited for too.

Yay 2014! I agree that 2013 was hard. There were good times but I'm glad to say goodbye too. I think you and Christielli and I should encourage eachother along through the year and our goals!

Yeah-- good riddance, 2013! One of my intentions for 2014 is to be a better friend, too, so let's make sure I stick with it, OK? By going on splint dates!! (Or not.) :)
