Obsess much?
I was slightly embarrassed when I walked out this morning and realized I have the book Persuasion marked with an I'd Rather be at Pemberley bookmark, which was inside my 'Mr. Darcy Proposal' tote bag.
For real.
Jane Austen is my second favourite author ever. The problem (well, for my anyway) with having dead authors as favourites is that you tend to put off reading all of their books - because it's not like there's any more of them coming.
I've been thinking about Persuasion for a while and I think the timing is right to read it after all these years of looking at it, sighing and selecting another book from my shelf.
I have a 'thing' with objects that I love more than I can express - I don't partake in them like normal people would. Perfect example: my favourite movie ever - The Lives of Others - yeah, I've only watched it twice. Once in the theatre and once at home - and only because "the time was right". (Brad has given up asking if we can watch it again.)
So I'm on Chapter 2 and it's turning out to be classic Austen. I sigh when I start reading, I read super slowly and fall into a lovely trance full of empire waisted frocks, then I sigh when I have to close the book.

I have two Austen novels sitting on my shelf and have yet to crack either. So sad. And yet, I've seen the movies for three, not counting different versions of the same novel. Yeah.
I was reading about Lives of Others just yesterday and have reminded myself that it's been on my to-watch list since it hit theatres (yes, that long ago…) I should real get on that, eh?
PS - that jersey for your nephew is too cute!
This is too perfect. I love your Austen overload! (And that tote bag looks gorgeous.)
I guess savouring your favourite things works better than totally overdosing on them, which I am more apt to do. Then again, one of my favourite movies ever (Maelstrom), I've only seen twice as well.
You would hate it that I've never read any Austen. I tried Pride & Prejudice back in high school, but couldn't get through it.
I should try some again... However, I'm purposely reading two crappy book right now just for the hell of it. I'm in the mood for mindless-ness. :)
I recognize that bookmark!
