Let's talk bladder infections or UTIs - whatever you want to call them. As a woman I get them on and off. Man do they knock me out - they are absolutely miserable. For all my fellow lady readers, I'm sure you get them too. If not, just wait. One day you will. (said in a scratchy Yoda voice)
Brad is in Vancouver until Wednesday night with the car. So I have to get my butt to a clinic and a pharmacy sans car. And I'm really sick.
A good friend happened to offer me a ride to the clinic. I took him up on it - reluctantly - I'm not one for charity. It's hard for me.
I chose a clinic that boasted "quiet hours" in the evenings plus it had a pharmacy attached, sounds good right? Two stops in one since I was cabbing it. It was only after I walked inside the building that I realized the pharmacy had closed early that night - yeah, no reason why.
I sent Brad a text message with my cell phone letting him know what was going on - he was super worried about me at this point.
Prescription in hand, I called a cab and figured I would ask him to wait outside the pharmacy for me to run in and fill the prescription before taking me home. I still think this was the best way, even though it was a pretty pricey cab ride.
What a relief to finally get home after all that! I popped the antibiotics, drank some tea and cranberry juice and crawled into bed - so tired. Slept on and off until 3:00am when.....the phone rang.
Seriously?
When the phone rings in the middle of the night it's worrisome - is everyone all right? I couldn't get to it in time, but after I checked who it was (private caller) my cell beeped. That was when I realized who it was. It was ME!!
Remember the text message I had sent Brad earlier? Instead of going to his cell, it went to our land line. It just took 8 hours to deliver for whatever reason.
I think it's all over now. I'm curled up with Ziggy, some cranberry juice, a couple movies, antibiotics and tea. What else could happen?

Oh my god that's hilarious about the text message! I'm pretty sure I've sent a text message to your landline before - its super robotic.
Glad you're feeling better! What a fiasco!
Happy to hear you're feeling better!
Oh, never ask the "What else?" question! Knock on wood right now!
Sounds awful, dear. I sincerely hope you feel better. Nastiness in lady-town is not a fun event. Take it easy for a while.
Ugh. UTIs are the absolute worst! For a while I was getting them close to 3 times a YEAR! Thank goodness it's nowhere close to as frequent now. (KNOCK ON WOOD!)
I had to giggle about you sending a text message to your landline, though. I would have been so scared and worried if the phone rang at that time, only to curse myself for being so silly!
Hope you feel better soon.
Thanks guys - I think I'm slowly on my way to a full recovery. Hooray for antibiotics!
I had my first one of those last year! It sucked, but cleared up quite quickly.
Glad that you are feeling better!
You know I understand your pain! Glad you're feeling better and hope to see you soon!
