Italy Part 8 - Coffee

Behold.

One of the things I was most excited about when we went to Italy was drinking coffee. I love coffee - you have no idea. I think a good coffee is one of the best things in life.

Every morning we would get coffees and pastries for breakfast. It was the perfect way to start the day when it was so hot. The last thing I wanted was a gigantic breakfast with greasy bacon and piles of potatoes.

Brad didn't even like coffee until about three years ago when he asked to try a cappuccino of mine after dinner one night. Since then he's been drinking it more and more, then when we were in Italy - all he drank was espresso. Seriously.

Since we've been back, we've found one place in Victoria where we can actually get a good macchiato. Discovery Coffee is amazing. Other than that, we're a bit lost.

I used to only drink decaf. A few months before we left on our trip, I ramped up my caffeine intake so I wouldn't be a hot mess in Italy.

It seemed like no matter where you ordered a coffee in Italy, it was fantastic. If only it was the same way here!

I'm drooling over the pastries. My morning coffee is one of the best parts of my days.....your mornings in italy (I almost typed 'eatily' - hehe) sound devine!

Yum. Your photos remind me of all of the yummy pastries and coffees that I had in France. Actually today I had an awesome latte at a little cafe in Greenwich Village.

Have you ever tried Street Level Espresso on Fort Street downtown? Not that I have... it just exudes an aura of superiority whenever I walk by. I could be wrong, but maybe my spidey senses are right! :)
