Cuba - Part 3 - Cucaracha

I will admit - when we go to tropical places I get nervous about running into cockroaches. I have a massive, ridiculous fear of them. Quite frankly if I was surprised by one crawling on me or say - flying at my face.......well, let's just say they would have to put me in a padded room.

Right before we stepped on the bus in Havana to head back to the resort, I saw this one on the sidewalk.

The guy who was driving the bus gave me a funny look when he caught me photographing it.

i don't know if I've ever seen one up close.....the thought of having them say.....in your place is almost as bad as having a mouse (which I have also never had....knock on wood).

EEEEEEK!

Merry Christmas little buddy.

I love that you faced your fear enough to photograph it.

Merry Christmas!

I love the photograph. Also the fact that we get the toe for size comparison purposes.

After living in Texas (giant bugs)...we call the roaches in Chicago "crickroaches." As in they seem too small to be a full cockroach. More like 1/2 roach 1/2 cricket. Still 100% gross.

Also, no flying. THANKFULLY.

Let's stop talking about it...I'm getting itchy.
